The strange thing is, the 2nd drive was the 1st drive for a while, and swapon quite happily used the swap partition then. But now, each time swapon -a runs in /etc/rc, I get the message: /dev/wd1b: device not configured. I can read/write from /dev/wd1b & /dev/rwd1b. Here is my /etc/fstab, and my disklabel on wd1: /dev/wd0a / ufs rw 1 1 /dev/wd1a /usr ufs rw 1 2 /dev/wd1b none swap sw 0 0 # /dev/rwd1d: type: ESDI disk: st1102a label: flags: bytes/sector: 512 sectors/track: 17 tracks/cylinder: 10 sectors/cylinder: 170 cylinders: 1024 rpm: 3600 interleave: 1 trackskew: 0 cylinderskew: 0 headswitch: 0 # milliseconds track-to-track seek: 0 # milliseconds drivedata: 0 4 partitions: # size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg] a: 157080 0 4.2BSD 512 4096 0 # (Cyl. 0 - 923) b: 17000 157080 swap # (Cyl. 924 - 1023) d: 174080 0 unused 0 0 # (Cyl. 0 - 1023) Next: can someone explain how to set up /etc/man.conf to find pre-nroff'd man pages in /usr/local/man/man[1-8], and where to obtain a makewhatis or equivalent so I can make the database files to keep apropos happy?!
