Hello everybody

We are running ULTRIX 4.3A on a DECstation 5000-260.

Very important files were backed up (using rdump 0uf) on a file on disk.

By doing various (and inconsiderate !!) manipulations, a mistake was done and
the dump file became empty. Most probably, due a redirection error, the dump
file content was set to zero.

The file system where the dump file stands has been umounted and nobody could
write on it.

May be the file has not been physically erased, but just the first byte was
set to null and therefore, the content of the file still lays on the disk but
can not be seen with the normal UNIX commands.

DO YOU KNOW ANY WAY TO RECOVER THE CONTENT OF THE DUMP FILE ?

I would appreciate any kind of help...
