In article <2p3me4$aql@sophia.inria.fr> avega@pax.inria.fr (Andres Vega Garcia) writes:

I would like to let all users login in my FreeBSD machine without
having to create explicitly an account in the FreeBSD machine for every user
in my project but using the same password as for the Sun W-S.

No problem. FreeBSD support's Theo deRaadt's YP implementation. You
can set your domainname and run ypbind just as you would on a sun client.

Actually I can make telnet or ftp from the FreeBSD PC to a work-
station using the IP address, I am NOT able to do something like:

	   $ftp pax.inria.fr

Sounds like you need to configure your /etc/resolv.conf file to use
a nameserver!
