Has anyone compiled and actually used the wine source on freebsd.cdrom.com?

Yup! It's a bit fiddly, and you have to do _everything_ that the README
says to, but it will stagger into the air if you don't make any loud noises.

I'd like to know what your trials and tribulations.. or incredible success,
   you're have.

I've gotten solitaire to work no probs. A friend has also used it to
play `Windows Pool', which he got off of some Windows contributed software
collection.
