I have both editions. IMHO the 2nd is  better then the 1st one.
Indeed, there are many error, but books on device driver for
R4 are rare...
If you need information especially on STREAMS, this one won't help
you that much. I'd recommend Rago and Goodheart&Cox.

BTW I'm preparing a list of books on device drivers and kernel programming.
