hi,

i have a new 486 system with two scsi hard drives, one
which currently has dos/windows, and the other on which i
plan to install netbsd. when the machine boots, i would like to
either start dos/windows, or netbsd. if at all possible, i'd like
to have the option of either booting the system from a floppy
(rather than alter the MBR on my 1st (system) hard drive), OR booting dos
directly from the 1st hard drive. any ideas? i've taken a look at
LILO, the linux boot utility, but (from the documentation) it appears
that you need linux already installed (particularly the headers) in
order to compile and install LILO, and it wasn't entirely clear to me how to
create a LILO boot floppy (as all the instructions pertain to
hard disk installation.)

how do netbsd users typically handle booting multiple os's?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,
