Wel'p now that I know comp.unix.shells exists I am gonna move over there and
figure out how to switch shells :) Heard alot about different type shells
and have never had the chance to switch to another. Thanks for the info.

: why don't you get tcsh and read the man page for it?  it describes how
: to put the path in the prompt.  there are different options, i.e. for
: using/not using ~ as a shortcut, etc.  tcsh is cool anyway (if you
: like csh).
