I'm sick and tired of religious zealots (from both sides) who continue to
waste bandwidth with crap like this. I read the comp.os.386bsd.*
newsgroups to get (and perhaps occasionally contribute) useful information
about *BSD OS's. If a religious zealot comes to my door and starts ramming
(particularly by shouting) misinformation down my throat, I can always
slam the door in his face. Unfortunately I can't slam the door in yours.

Why don't you just save your `conversion oratory' for the `true believers'
and restrict your rubbish to the linux.* groups and leave us in peace?

I saw Linus' posting on this (or a similar) thread recently and I felt it
was most appropriate as he was `admonishing' someone who was being stupid
from the *BSD side. Why do we have to have sides?? Why can't we be a
little bit `adult' (like Linus was) and agree that all the free Unixes have
strengths and weaknesses and *all* will benefit from rational cooperation
and discussion.

When you go back and look at your (obvious flamebait) posting, what useful
information did you really contribute?? I'm not really flaming you (your
posting just happened to be the `straw'). I'm really making a plea to all
to cut out the crap and perhaps divert your energy to doing something useful
to help the long suffering core team members of whatever free Unix you
happen to prefer.

But, being a realist, pigs might fly first <sigh>.
