I am setting up XFree86-2.0 for FreeBSD-1.0.2 and I am having some
problems. I have a question regarding the dot clock readout for a WD90C31
graphics card using the command X -probeonly. The max dot clock I get is
65.00 MHz, when my manual says 72 MHz, and in even one instance, it says I
can even set it to 87 MHz.

With a dot clock readout of only 65 MHz, I can only get around 800x600
resolution when my card is clearly capable of 1024x768 (it has to be able
to, 'cuz that's the res. I use to run windoze at). However, I tried to
configure it to 1024x768 by manipulating the clock numbers in the Xconfig
anyway, but to no avail. I know I can simulate this by using virtual
mode, but sometimes it gets to be a pain having to move my screen around
all the time, especially when some programs only run at resolutions
bigger than 800x600. Any idea as to how I should go about getting
1024x768 resolution? It HAS to be able to!!

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Sincerely,
