Subject: Better SLIP under NetBSD-0.9? (how to get)

I posted once about how NetBSD-0.9's slip was a bit flaky...
archie and stuff didn't work at all. I was told that SLIP routinely
dropped UDP packets. However, recently, someone told me differently.
He said he used slip and archie, etc, worked just fine.

Could anyone clear this up?

Part II: I received several pieces of mail giving me ways to change
the kernel to provide better slip functionality/performance. I'd like
to get people's consensus on the changes. Could anyone with a tip in this
area, please post it for peer review? I know very little about Unix
networking.
