Linux is using bounce buffers that we plan to support in the next (1.2)
release (I hope), but for now on FreeBSD and NetBSD you need to be using
a bus mastering controller that supports the more capable EISA or VESA buses.
A good example of one is the Buslogic EISA controllers.  (It is more
efficient to do so anyway -- even though bounce buffers do not affect
performance much, they do slow down system performance measurably.)  We
