What this means in plain english is that the lastest snapshot of FreeBSD enables those folks with more than 16MB of memory and an ISA, EISA (emulating ISA) or semi-broken VLB (Buslogic) SCSI controller card to function properly. All those folks with 32MB of memory and Adaptec 1542 cards may now rejoice! :) I am not yet sure whether or not we'll be able to add the functionality back into 1.1 without potentially destabilizing the release (which would not be in anyone's interest), so this may have to wait for FreeBSD 1.2 to see the "official" light of day. Those who are willing to take the plunge may, of course, run -current from any time as of now. Should the situation regarding 1.1 change, I will be sure to let all of you know.
