Subject: POSIX signal handling problem? CVS-1.3

Compiling CVS-1.3, I found that:
1) CVS-1.3's configure utility sees the POSIX include files and assumes
POSIX signals.
2) Compiling produces no problems, but the resultant program hangs somewhere
in SIG_register().
3) If you "bg" the program and then "fg" it, it actually hangs the entire
system!  Ack!

I got around the problem by re-configuring with BSD signals, but what went
wrong? I should have gotten a warning earlier.
