I'd like a package of tools/libraries to ease a transition into a graphical
environment. X is my choice, of course, because it's the Right Thing, :)
but I'd like an easy transition. Brevity is much desired, even at the
expense of infinite control over every little detail.
(In other words, I'm lazy.)

I heard there are good toolkits out there that make X programming very easy,
any suggestions? I run NetBSD and XFree86.

PS: easy portability to other graphical platforms is nice, but I'm a student
and can't pay for any of the commercial packages :)
