i assume you'd understand German, too, but maybe it's interesting for
some non-German-speaking people (is there any?), too:-)
I also see this problem, and some weeks ago i took some DES sources
available on an ftp server (saturn.hrz.tu-chemnitz.de) nearby, and tried
to make use of that. Okay, i have a password encryption function, but
not THE passwd encryption. At least it seems to be as secure as the
original, but there should still be any way to use those packages
(which certainly have the same base as the USA DES). If there's some
more interest in what i do have, i could post it, or you can get it
via email. Maybe if i'll get enough time, they could be improved, so
the encryption will match the commonly used one.
