3 == 'd' is the common descriptor for the "whole", i.e. "raw" disk.
An iso9660 File system occupies the whole disk, there are no
special partitions. A CDROM that is formatted as a BSD disk
with a disk label would possibly then have different partitions
accessed with mcd0[a-h]. However, I have not seen a CDROM with
a ???BSD disk label on it yet (there are some with a SunOS disk label,
though).
