The new Adaptecs are very different from the old ones, and Adaptec has not even the slightest desire to help us make them run on NetBSD/FreeBSD. Buy a BusLogic bt742a (SCSI-1), bt747 (FAST SCSI-2), or bt757 (FAST+WIDE SCSI-2). Personally, I have a 747 that's about a month old, and I simply love it. Besides, the BusLogic cards are cheaper than Adaptec cards. And, BusLogic's support is *much* better. I'm told the EISA (24f?) UltraStor board doesn't work with NetBSD/FreeBSD. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael L.
