All of the BSD ones have pure BSD networking.  Linux I'm not sure about:  I 
have never seen it.  NetBSD is very easy to network from experience.

I guess FreeBSD is considered the most stable:  this might be what
you're looking for.

Walnut Creek (ftp.cdrom.com) will sell you a CDROM will FreeBSD, XFree86,
and some other goodies for $40 or so.  I am sure other people will
sell you floppies or tapes.
