i am considering porting 4.4BSD-lite to 21064.
whether i do the port or not depends on the quality and availability of
4.4 and of the FSF's "Hurd" freeware UNIX. if U. Cal. requires every
user of 4.4-lite to have a licensing agreement with them, and more to
the point perhaps, to pay $1000 bucks for the distribution, then perhaps
the port isn't worth the effort.
on the other hand, if there's a liberalized policy regarding 4.4, and
the kernel and assorted ports can be put up for anonymous ftp, then
i think ports to 21064, PA-RISC, and R4x00, are well worth it.
