1. Make sure /dev/vga exists. mknod /dev/vga c 12 0
2. Modify your /etc/ttys so that console is off and vga is on:
console "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" pc3 off secure
vga "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" pc3 on secure
3. Reboot.
That should solve your problem.

Try putting "ChordMiddle" in the mouse section of your Xconfig. I've
heard that the newer Mousemen have this problem.
