No, that's what you're supposed to use.  (UNIX `ar' programs generally
silently truncate the name.)  The `ar' file format only allows for 15
characters, unless extended; our `ar' program has extended the format,
but most other programs don't know about it.

You're welcome to send us patches which will update all the programs
to understand the new format...
