Just as another datapoint, I have successfully used a 1542CF with NetBSD 0.9
and a single, internal, SCSI-1 disk. I only had it a few weeks before I got
a good deal on a 1742, but I didn't have any problems during that time. I
don't really remember, but I was probably using a cheap external terminator
instead of the internal termination. (I occassionally attach a Sun CD-ROM.)
