I doubt this is related but I thought I would post it anyway...

     I know somebody with a 386DX-25 w/8MB of DRAM (1MB SIMMS 60 or
70ns SIMMS I think) on an AMI motherboard running DOS 5.0. There are
two floppy drives: 1 3.5" and 1 5.25". Strange problem: at random
times when saving to the floppy (either of them I think but definitely
the 3.5") the machine crashes with "PARITY ERROR". I have to talk to
the people some more but it may only happen when they are connected to
the network (it happened when they were using a Dlink-150 and now with
a Dlink-220).

[I tired re-seating the DRAMs and playing with various timings in the
CMOS config...just thought I bring it up because they mentioned it just
recently and this topic came up once again ;-)]
