In some implementations of DMA controller, bus arbiter, and refresh timers
They are connected and screwing with them may have very bad effects. 
The exact nature of the interaction is implementation dependent and will
therefore not be useful on all systems running *BSD. Therefore please
begin discussing something relevant to 386BSD or take this thread to an 
IBM-compatible hardware group, or better yet, just stop. 

Any replies not directly related to *BSD should be directed to the bit-bucket.
