just this last weekend i went out and bought a
pentium motherboard and $spentium cpu chip.

it is now running FreeBSD-1.0.2 very well
	(with XFree86-2.0). there were no
	pentium-specific problems that i encountered.

in a day or two i'll try to post some real benchmarks.
in the interim i have exactly 1 datapoint: the
60mhz pentium with 512k cache and no-memory interleaving
is 3.8x faster than my 486-25 with 128k cache.

the motherboard was from a local (santa-clara)
	manufacturer.
