Actually, it would probably work fine as a kerberos master server.
Kerberos isn't terribly demanding on a machine.  Iowa State serves
almost 15,000 users and over 700 workstations with two DECstation
2100's as the kerberos servers (these are old 12.5MHz MIPS R2k CPU
machines).  This at the same time the actual file and service servers
are having to move up to DECstation 5000/260's and Alphas with
multiple SCSI interfaces just to keep up with the demand.

I think this would be a fine use for a 4meg or so ol' rusty 386 laying
around collecting dust.
