I have a FreeBSD system running on an AMD 386-40 CPU. With the 256K cache
it is quite speedy for a 386. Overall I have had no problems with the
chip. I have a C&T FPU as well (40 MHZ) and have no problems with it and
FreeBSD (or anything else for that matter).

Don't think you can lose with AMD. In fact you might do much better over
Intel products. Good luck!
