After upgrading FreeBSD from epsilon to 1.0 release, XFree86 started locking
the console upon server exit. I foolishly ignored previous articles on this
topic, and now they're gone.

HELP!

Here are the particulars: After my .xinitrc completes, the X display
on my monitor is replaced by the text displayed on the screen as X
started up (but before changing video modes). At this point, characters
that I type on the keyboard are echoed, but I don't get a shell prompt.
I am running the stock pccons console device driver.

THANKS!!

Ken
