Hi,

Due to popular demand I have ported the latest version of the famous BRM
netrek client. Current version is 3.00 patch level 3.

What does it do that the older versions don't? I haven't the faintest
idea ... only that I have had enough E-Mail to drive me nuts about
getting it out so it must be pretty good.

The binary was just uploaded to ftp.cd.chalmers.se (the standard
BRM distribution site) in gz format. It should be located
in the /pub/netrek/brm-bin directory, but might be in the /pub/incoming
directory if you are too early getting it. Be sure to use 'binary' mode
with ftp when you get it. I can't tell you how many people sent me
mail with the last port saying 'it does not run ... what's wrong' because
they transferred it in ascii mode.

I used the same secret RSA key I used with my last port, so it should
work right away. I played a game on bigbang.astro.indiana.edu a while
ago with ppp and it worked great. The RSA ley was already there. So,
feel free to replace your current version of the BRM with this one.
It should work right away.

					Have Fun!

PS

I was suprised to find out that my last port would not run on a
NetBSD machine (current rev). A simple recompile solved the problem
on an account provided by a friendly fellow netrek player. Could
a NetBSD-er out there try this client out and tell me if I need to
do this again for the NetBSD people again?
