If I understand correctly (I'm very new to 386bsd), NetBSD can run
any binary from FreeBSD, 386bsd and many BSD/386 ones, but not vice

Nope. FreeBSD will now also run 386BSD, NetBSD and BSD/386 binaries
   as well.

NetBSD-current now has proper OMAGIC and NMAGIC support. These probably will
not run on FreeBSD. We're not using them anything yet, but might sometime.
