From "man ifconfig"
NAME
ifconfig - configure network interface parameters
SYNOPSIS
ifconfig interface address_family [address [dest_address]] [parameters]
ifconfig interface [protocol_family]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
inet is not an interface nor sl0 an address family
So besides any netmask problems you may have try
"ifconfig sl0 inet bahrain netblazer netmask 0xffffff00"
The bit about the man pages was cut and paste from my
home machine via slip :-)
