There is a port of NetBSD 0.8 to the Macintosh, 'NetBSD/Mac68K,'
available on sun-lamp.cs.berkeley.edu:/pub/NetBSD/mac, and also
on hulk.sfsu.edu:/pub/MacBSD.ALPHA. You'll find most of what you
need to install it there.

There are also a pair of mailing lists, 'macbsd-general' and
'macbsd-development' on sun-lamp. To subscribe, send mail
to 'majordomo@sun-lamp.cs.berkeley.edu' with the *body* of the
message containing "subscribe <listname>". Please send mail
to "alice@csugrad.cs.vt.edu" if you have any trouble. Send mail
to 'majordomo' with the body "help" for more options.

NetBSD/Mac68K (Jeez, I guess we should go back to calling it 'MacBSD'
for short) is only known to work on these Macs, with FPUs:
II (with PMMU), IIx, IIcx, SE/30
Your machine should work fine, as long as you don't have anything
WeIrD in it, like a second SCSI card, or an Apple II adapter card.
Please mail your experiences (good, bad, ugly, did your monitor spin
around spewing pea soup) to
	"macbsd-general@sun-lamp.cs.berkeley.edu".

The Alice Group is deep in development right now, so the FTP directories
are getting a little cluttered, but the README and the FAQ are still
valid. It may not be as powerful as you'd like, but it certainly
is challenging.

If anyone who knows better wants to correct anything I've said,
please do! (I got four hours of sleep last night (again), and
I'm beginning to hallucinate that my Mac is a talking roach with
a keyboard.)
