The original poster's question is quite legitimate; however, it seems that we can't get a objective response without personalities getting involved. That's a shame since I've talked via e-mailed to many individuals involved with 386BSD, FreeBSD, and NetBSD (and Linux) and they've all been helpful. The best answer (for the sake of net traffic) is, unfortunately, "try all of them and use the one which meets your needs." -- Ken Hughes | "I can't believe this is my life; (hughes@napa.eng.uop.edu) | I'm going to have to send my SAT FT-Ph D candidate, PT-ex-sysadm | scores to San Quentin instead of University of South Florida | Stanford..." _Heathers_
