Er, this is not meant to start another lame flamewar, but jumptables don't
force you to recompile.  Jumptables are like symbols; just think of jumptable
slot 0 as your symbol "_main", etc, and they are looked up at runtime, too.
After a fashion.  In a manner of speaking.  But I never have to recompile
after upgrading my libraries.
