Hello,

While trying to find a good configuration for a machine to run *BSD on,
keep on stumbling on the ISA 16Mb limit for DMA. Unfortunately, the budget
to buy the machine is very limited, so EISA might not be possible :(

That's why I am wondering: how many device drivers out there use DMA, and
will go astray on an ISA machine with mem > 16 Mb? Also: does VLB have
any problems with the 16 Mb limit in an ISA machine? Drivers I am interested
in are harddisk drivers (any kind), ethernet card drivers and tape drives.

Thanks in advance,
Frank
