Subject: WAISindex on NetBSD 0.9 broken?

Has anyone gotten waisindex (from wais version 8-b5.1 dist) to create an
index that is searchable under NetBSD 0.9 on a 386 machine? The waissearch
etc. programs all seem to work correctly, but whenever I search the local
indexes, I get an error that the flag in the inverted file was expected to be
valid but was not.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Thanks in advance,
