Well, in the five hours since that was posted, I have received mail
from members of both teams.

The FreeBSD folks were pretty much still receptive to the concept of a
merge, though they mentioned two particular individuals on the NetBSD
core team who were uniformly uncooperative, obstructive towards the
concept of a merge and whom they refused to work with.

The NetBSD folks were more-or-less uniformly "insulted" by the whole
suggestion of the "Peace Prize".  

I find this difference instructive.
