The GNU attitude toward Apple is that they won't stop anyone from porting GNU
utilities, but they won't help and won't fold any necessary patches into their
source tree.  Many GNU utilities *have* been ported to A/UX from the reports
I've heard.  (...and the results are better than with the native A/UX
utilities.  Why am I not surprised? :-)
