Are you so sure of that?  A friend of mine is running NetBSD downstairs
right now on his amiga, even as I type this up on my roommate's Linux 
machine (in fact, we are going to be messing with slip and ppp between 
our two machines over the next couple of days/weeks, depending on how 
our class workload goes ;).

As for the shared libraries, I seem to recall a number of people mentioning
that shared libs are being tested right now, if not fully released.
