I have been running several systems with these controllers on them
with various versions of 386bsd and FreeBSD without problems.  I set
mine up to reseve one spare sector per track so that the disks were
error free.  You give up some space, but it has been more than worth
it to me to not have to deal with bad sector forwarding.
