Bottom line:  who cares?

If you want a bsd based system then use FreeBSD or NetBSD.  If you want
a SYSV/POSIX based system, then use Linux.  The point of what software
is available is moot because just anything can be FTP'ed and ported
with little work for either system.  The only this that really matters
is what support is in the kernel.
