I am trying to run NetBSD-0.9 on IBM Value Point PC's. When you boot, the
console hangs. Dave Burgess suggested "tickling" the num-lock key as the
machines boots. This works, and everything is ok for a while. However, on
some (but seemingly not all of the 25 machines in my lab) the console will
again hang after 10 minutes or so. This is a very serious problem,
especially since I can't keep some of the machines up long enough to rdist
new software. A while back, I saw the tail end of a discussion on the
"hanging console bug". However, my news server has been very erratic lately
and I missed almost all of the discussion. Is this my problem? If so, what
causes the hanging console bug and can anything be done about it? I have
been running NetBSD on two non-true-blue machines with not trouble at all
since it was released, so obviously this is some sort of hardware-specific
problem.

Thanks,
