I own a Gravis UltraSound card and a PAS16;however, I use my GUS
exclusively.

Check out xboing it is a cool paddle program you will like it.

I tend to play midi files with my GUS both under DOS and Unix;however,
my Unix utility sounds better than the DOS one :-)

to play midi files, I use adagio from the linux group so do archie
to locate it.

You can record music of a CD by connecting the audio line out to the
line in. the command is very simple cat /dev/sb >your_favorite_song

to playback cat /your_favorite_song >/dev/sb

For DOS and GUS, there is an amazing demo called 2ndReality which puts
out cool Dolby surround sound and it has some nifty graphics to go
with the demo. Definitly worth checking out.

There is ntracker to play amiga mod files by far one of the most
popular music format in the net;however, it does not compared
in sound quality nor in versatility to midi.

I just bought a midi keyboard so I can start playing around with
my GUS. I have a couple of Windows programs to help me compose
music. You can also record midi files with the Unix driver and
I will be able to report on this later on this week since I don't
know how to do it right now.

You can have fun by getting a mike if you don't already own one
so you can add voice notes or whatever to some of your X apps.

There is a ton of low fidelity sun au files if you want already
sampled sounds.

I am hoping that with the driver in placed that some of the
netters will start getting creative with the new sound drivers
deployed.

	Good Luck and Happy Jamming!
