Laurel, NJ Lines: 22 I have FreeBSD epsilon up and running on my machine but am having problems, most likely due to my ignorance. Here's what happened. I tried to check out the serial lines by doing stty -f /dev/tty00 clocal cu -d -l /dev/tty00 -s 9600 Cu reports writing the first character I type at it and then hangs. I had to reboot. Then I figured I ought to get myself a way out other than rebooting. I didn't see screen so I tried to telnet to myself, figuring that I could always escape out. That didn't work. Telnet reported connecting but there was no getty. My system does not have an ethernet card since I don't have an ethernet; would that account for the telnet misbehavior? Inetd is running. As for the serial line, the only additional datum is that power cycling the modem has at least once brought cu back. Any suggestions?
