Subject: Where's config for FreeBSD?

Well, I pulled over 35 or so diskettes' worth of FreeBSD the other day,
and put it all up. Ran out of disk space, so finally reluctantly
deleted all of /usr/src (as the upgrade said to do). Expanded the
srcsys.tgz, found GENERICAH and proceeded to copy and customize it (I
really want to use swap space on /dev/wd1).

Then, I looked around for config, and there isn't any! In fact, I
can't find a config anywhere in any of the FreeBSD .tgz files. Config
came with 386bsd; did I recycle the infant with the rinse water?

Just about now, comes over me the feeling that I'm asking something
pretty foolish. Some fatherly figure will post a reply and say
"There there, you just have to build it first," and point me in the
direction of the right makefile.

OK, I'll swallow my pride and ask: is that all I have to do? The FAQ
is pretty silent on this subject. With 386bsd, I figured it out from
some really simple instructions which came with it, but FreeBSD is
quite different.
