I've narrowed it down to an Ultrastore or an Adaptec. Now is the Adaptec 1540 100% compatible with the 1542 (Minus the floppy), and what exactly are the differences between the 1542B and 1542C, and have the various OS's sorted out their initial teething problems with the 1542C having problems with 1542B drivers. (I know some people with OS/2 at least were having problems). Second question is which is faster? The Ultrastore or the 1542? Is the software configurable Ultrastore any good? (I've seen one, but didn't get a chance to play with it). (I'd be looking at the Ultrastore 14F) Third Question, does anyone have the number of a reputable supplier that has these cards cheap and will do mail order to New Zealand? TIA. -- ====================================================================== | Hamish Marson | | Systems Programmer | | | Computer Services | INTERNET h.marson@waikato.ac.nz | | University of Waikato | PHONE +64 7 8562889 xt 8181 | | New Zealand | FAX +64 7 8384066 | ===========Disclaimer :- Remember.
