Here we go again...

No; the 3c509's are not supported under NetBSD or FreeBSD. I have some
mostly-working code but haven't touched it in several months. I know I
said I was going to finish it and I can give a bunch of excuses as to why
I haven't and they'd all be true. Pretty well everyone who has sent me
mail in the past asking about this has been told the same thing and has
been offered the code if they wish to finish it. A number of people have
accepted the code but I've never heard from them again so I can only assume
that they're either having the same problems "I" did or ran out of
interest.

I suppose I'd find myself better motivated if I actually required the
3c509 to use my machine but as it is I have a 3c503 that works just dandy
for me.

Ever notice in the 3Com ad's how they say something about the card being
great for single-user applications? (read: "These cards work well on PC's
running DOS").

Please don't deluge me with mail asking for my work-in-progress.

Maybe I'll sit down tonight and take an honest stab at making it work.

(oh; and yes, I "DO" feel bad for not producing anything on this yet.)
