I have BSD/386 and am having the same problem. I have 5MB of RAM and
20MB of swap. It seems to lock up every 4 days. I am definately
loosing swap space. I can monitor its size and watch it shrink. If I
run a continuious compile, I crash in several hours.

I am currently working with BSDI on the problem. I don't know if the
problem is the same as */BSD, but thought it would be helpful to give
you this information.
