This question gets asked every couple of days, so here is all the
	same information:

	1. The newer 2742 controllers are NOT compiatble with the older
	154X and 174X controllers

	2. Adaptec has some new policy by which getting driver information
is a bit of a pain, and they give you code with which you must
	work and figure things out.

	3. There are no drivers for these controllers currently, and few
(if any) people have expressed active interest in creating one.
This looks like a great opportunity for you to get into the world
	of writing UNIX device drivers.

If you have a VLB machine, then the UltraStor 34F is very
much worth looking at. Otherwise, look at a used 1742. I
think there are some EISA bustek controllers, but I have
little experience, and am unfamiliar with all of them.
