Suppose that AT&T wins the suit and BSDI is put out of business. AT&T will have spent thousands if not millions in legal fees for what gains? It will have pissed-off a large community of people who were/are responsible for a great deal of the success of ***X. Namely the academic and research communities. All the while Microsoft is bearing down on them with Windows NT. Smart move AT&T (NOT!).
